Bible Baptist Church

Upper Darby, PA

Our History

Bible Baptist Church of Upper Darby began as a church planting work of Bible Baptist Church in West Chester.  For many years, a significant group of people traveled from Delaware County to Chester County to go to church.  This gave the leaders of Bible Baptist in West Chester an idea to start a like-minded church in Delaware County.  An evangelistic Bible study was begun in the home of one of it’s members.  It appeared that through this effort God was confirming His intentions to start a church in Delaware County.  Many souls were being saved at this Bible Study so that a nucleus of people was encouraged to form the foundations of this new church.

The first service of Bible Baptist took place on June 28, 1992.  A core group of 23 people made up this assembly.  After 4 years, Bible Baptist Church became seff-supporting.  It incorporated in 1996.  God has saved souls through this ministry and brought up servants to follow the Savior.  It has been our privilege to serve in outreach ministries such as Haverford State Hospital in the early years and the George W. Hill Correctional Facility later on.

For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord. 2 Cor. 4:5
